Hello,
Welcome to the HP Support forum ! Thank you for your post.
I am sorry for the issue you experience.
This code means that the hard Disk drive (HDD) has failed. And based on the S/N you warranty has expired.
I am afraid this is hardware problem - faulty Hard Disk drive (HDD).
Since this is faulty HDD, you will probably not be able to recovery your files (more to follow).
Your options:
If your computer is with warranty period expired, you will need to replace the faulty HDD - buy it on your own. There are variety of options - vendors you can choose from - you need 2.5 inches HDD SATA.
You can purchase it from your local PC store, online or from HP parts store >> http://partsurfer.hp.com/
Your current one should/probably be 750 GB - if yes, you need either 750 GB model or bigger (e.g. 1 TB) - small will not work for HP software recovery. You can get it online or from PC retail store.
You may also consider installing SSD instead of HDD - this is strongly recommended as SSDs are way faster, more repliable and lighter. However, SSD need to be either 750 GB or 1 TB in size and is more expensive than HDD. More info on SSDs:

How to replace the faulty HDD with new HDD or new SSD: please, find info and instruction in your computer's manual or watch YouTube videos examples for HP 15.
PC manual for your model >> http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04162986.pdf (page 48)
If you do not want to do this on your own, please bring the computer (or ship it) to HP Authorized Service Center where the technicians will do this for you. If you are not sure where such a center is located, check these or contact HP for assistance in finding the nearest one for you:

>> http://www8.hp.com/us/en/store-finder/find.do?bs=SR4&type=authorized
Last part - once you replace the faulty component - you will need to reinstall back your operating system - Windows or another. So,
IF your computer originally came with Windows preinstalled by HP (a.k.a. OEM Windows), then you need to use HP recovery media - DVDs or USB pen drive you have previously created or recovery media purchased from HP. Some general info >> http://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c00006110
** You can purchase HP recovery media that will restore the original Windows 8.1 on your PC from here >> http://www.computersurgeons.com/p-23527-windows-81-64-bit-recovery-kit-756075-002-for-hp-notebook-pc-model-number-15-g012dx.aspx

If you had Win 8.1 but later upgraded to Win 10 and if you want to use Windows 10 directly (not revert back to Win 8.1), please let me know and I will provide specific OS installation instructions
Please, let me know how it goes and do post back if you need assistance. Looking forward to your feeback/reply.
Hello
Thank you for posting. Welcome to the HP Support forum !
The recovery process was interrupted, so start it again .
1. Please, shutdown the computer using the power button
2. After some seconds, power it back on.
2.1 As soon as you press the power-on button, immediately begin hitting the Esc button (like tap-tap-tap).
This should open a HP Startup Menu which may look similar to this one
3. Choose F11 to open System Recovery
4. Follow the on-screen instruction to Troubleshoot and launch Recovery Manager (HP Recovery) or to Reset your PC.
Hope this helps. Let me know if you face difficulties.
Onto a new laptop HP 255 with original DOS was loaded a Linux Ubuntu 11 Os. The user don't like it. therefore a Windows 10 license and a DVD with Windows 10 ISO image was got up. The new BIOS does not allow a new system loading from DVD.
Are the suggestions offered for Windows 8 replacement applicable - or what process must be performed to substutute the OS? Thank you.
Hi, Im currently using hp pavilion gaming notebook. Recently, the fps in all of my games drops to 30 and goes back up to normal and drops again every few seconds. I have tried to activate triple buffering and vsync on nvidia control panel but still not working. Up til now, i have no idea is it whether i havent touch some of the settings that i need to tweak, its entirely the graphic card problem or lower the graphical settings of the game (the fps still drops though)...
Dear sirs,
Kindly let me know if you can help me to solve a
problem that arised when I started my MSI Mega Book this morning.
Namely, I cannot start my laptop with Windows 10, because
PIN or password is requested all of a sudden, for the first time
since I installed Windows 10, a few months ago.
Thank you in advance for any answer.
Best regards,
Djole
I am curious about the same question. I just downloaded a copy of MIL-STD-810G standard and want to learn about it.
Why? Because my 2760p fell down from about 1.5m high down to the carpet and one corner of its body cracked badly. I am really wondering if the machine really complies with the given military standards.
I bought this machine a few years ago simply because I was attracted by two features of it: touchscreen plus pen support, and military build quality.
I was really disappointed when I saw the cracked corner of my 2760p. Military build seems to be a marketing wording for me now.
Is there any HP representative here to explain this?
Regards,
bbao
My wireless keyboard is eating up the batteries. I leave my computer mostly on, how do I turn the keyboard off so it won't waste the batteries?
You're very welcome.
No, i haven't tried connecting external keyboard. And warranty is over by now. But i tried performing a hard reset. Nothing changed. Is there any keyboard drivers i missed? I tried updating all drivers.
I have an hp 15 r032tx with nvidia optimus and I've tried downloading the driver from the support site but the driver is corrupted. I've tried downloading multiple times and even tried downloading using a different computer and moving it using various USB storage devices but the same thing happens. Mid verifying, it says the driver is corrupted.
Pls help
Hello;
Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!
Sorry, but unless there is an on/off switch on the keyboard (and very few have this). there is no way to turn it off, short of removing the batteries.
While the PC is on, it is constantly "talking" to the keyboard, so that will drain the batteries.
You could try changing the power options on the PC to Hibernate or Sleep it when you're not using it. That will prevent it from "talking" to the keyboard.
Good Luck
I have moved your inquiry to the appropriate section in the HP forums. It might gain a reply if you could explain your defintion of "Tpm". Additional help would be offered if you could mention the model # of this unit. As a sidebar, I would invite you to inquire then about a WIN 7 upgrade because browers for Vista are limited. IE9 stopped at version 9. It seems Opera still supports it.
I ran into similar situation recently on a Win7 PC and found this information online -- and it worked!
Download these updates before starting the installation process and copy them to a USB flash drive.
Disconnect the network cable or disable the WiFi.
Install these two updates from the flash drive before connecting to the network and running Windows Update.
KB Links:
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3083710
https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/3172605
Have to stop the Windows Update service BEFORE installing each of these: net stop wuauserv
NOTE: KB3172605 supercedes KB3161608 which supercedes KB3102810
Good Luck
my laptop is getting switched on when i plug in charger .after switching on i plug out charger then it working fine and battery is showing 98% . every time i have to connect charger for switching on the laptop .

I have an internal webcam but all of a sudden it won't work and when I go into my device manager there is no imagining device listed anymore. It seems like I lost it when my computer upgraded to Windows 10. I lost my internal camera and my internal mic. Please help me. Thank you
Try this:
1. Disconnect the AC Adapter.[charger]
2. Remove the Battery.
3. Hold the Power button down for 30 seconds. [with no power source or peripheral connected]
4. Reconnect the AC adapter without connecting the battery.
5. Switch ON the Notebook power and check if the fault persists.
If the Webcam stil fails to work, then there may be an internal fault and you may need to have your PC looked at by a HP Authorised repair agent.
Looks like your PC does not support windows 8.1. Hence, only windows 10 drivers are available.
However, you can still try the below Driver
Driver: http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp75501-76000/sp75624.exe
Or AMD Driver autodetect tool
