There isn't much you can do about it now unless you are going to rewrite the code on your own.
Intel and HP are going to have to publish a fix.

But is this something more people have an issue with or shall I adress this somewhere (or, if I'm in the minority with this problem, is there anything else I could do)?
I looked carefully through the list at the link you provided and do not see yours listed as an affected model.
This is bad to hear because it means i can't use FACTORY RESET anymore for my notebook?
(my HP Recovery Volume on HDD is fine)
When i've bought my notebook with factory settings and pre-installed W10 - there was HP Recovery Manager and it was working fine. So it means that HP Recovery Manager version for my notebook model exists.
And there is also HP Recovery Manager Update on my notebook's support page.
How could it be that full Recovery Manager software installation file is not available?
Well, anyway thank you in advance for your help.
Why? Your computer has 16 gigs of RAM. Installing 32 bit Windows would be like ripping out 12.5 gigs of it.
Hi,
I have a 8470p and recently performed a clean install of windows 10 pro x64.
Everything runs fine, exept for the web browser button: it keeps opening Internet Explorer, even though i have set chrome as my default browser.
The bios is up-to-date, as is windows. Drivers should also be the newest ones i could find.
Regards,
Robin
You're very welcome.
Most HP PC's come with the recovery manager software, but it is only installed at the factory, and very, very, very few models out there actually have the full software you can download. I don't even know of any that do off hand.
If the full recovery manager software is not on your notebook's support page, then it is not available for your notebook.
Your only option would be to order recovery media for your notebook.
http://www8.hp.com/ru/ru/contact-hp/contact.html
That will restore the hard drive to its out of the box condition.
Of course, the same thing may happen again when you upgrade to the newest version of Windows.
What I would do if I were you, would be to make a system image periodically of the installation using free imaging software such as Macrium Reflect.
That way you always have something to recover from.

You could download AVG or Avast and get free basic protection.

Think about what you're optioning security patches and numerous changes that come with a major Windows update vs. getting back a single program thats only purpose is to park your drive in case you drop your laptop while ussing it. And DriveGuard only works when the laptop is on, the heads automatially park when the machine is off.
I have tried without success to find a way to enter French accents as in cliché on my SlateBook (I'm typing this on my PC).
Any suggestions?
Hi,
I've got this issse with my flash drive and my laptop that doesn't recognize my flash 90% of the times unless I restart my computer. I have windows 10 and I got the latest update for that.
I read many comments here and tried to employ them, however, none of them worked for me. In device mangaer, under universal serial bus controllers, for USB Hub root, under power mangement tab I unchecked turning off the device to save the power and almost did it for any USB devices there.
It is really annoying and I don't know what to do. That's so inconvenient to reboot the system every time I have been not using the computer for a while to make it read the flash! I also tried different flash drive , none of them were recognized.
I would appreciate your help.
Thanks,
Benny
Add the additional language and use the onscreen keyboard while the HP Slatebook is not attached to the dock.
I use the Google GBoard keyboard for input with my Samsung Galaxy s7. I can select one of the languages I use on the fly while typing.

I installed it with Google Play.
Welcome to HP Support Forums.
I understand that you have an HP 17z series notebook. I read that you're trying to setup the laptop for the first time and it stuck and does not progress. I read that you're unable to go back and restart it. Not worry, I'll do my best to help you.
Please let me know the exact laptop model no. This link will help you to find the model no: http://hp.care/2bygf7l
Meanwhile, if the laptop does not let you complete the initial setup, then please power off the laptop by pressing and holding the power button.
Ensure that the only the charger and the battery are connected to the laptop. Any other USB devices need to be disconnected.
Now, please perform a Microsoft Push Button reset by following the steps mentioned under "Performing a push-button reset through Windows Recovery Environment" from this HP article.
I sincerely hope this fixes the issue. Let me know. Cheers!
Since I update my workstation to windows 10 I got 2 unknown drivers, that seems to be the same but for some reason it appears 2 times but the drivers(or dirver) won't update and I can't even update to windows 10 version 1709 because of this problems.
1st driver:
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0843&SUBSYS_1521103C&REV_14\4&80e946b&0&32F0
2nd diver:
PCI\VEN_1180&DEV_0592&SUBSYS_1521103C&REV_14\4&80e946b&0&33F0
Hi all,
After reading about the possible keylogger in the Synaptics Touchpad Driver I ended up on this page for an update of my driver: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/c05827409
Checking the available driver their against the one on my system doesn't seem to add up.
Question 1: How is that even possible? If the fix is recent shouldn't the new driver have a higher drivernumber?
Furthermore I tried downloading the new driver (ftp://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp81501-82000/sp81891.exe) and
Question 2: Where can I find a working updated driver
Finally.
On th einternet it is stated that the keylogger is off by default but can be turned on using a regkey. More specifically the key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\Defaults
This key is present on my machine
Question 3: Can I safely remove HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Synaptics\SynTP\ or even HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\
Question: How can I check if my system is breached an a keylogger is active?
Regards,
Salvolin
Hi:
You need this driver for both ID's...
This package contains the Ricoh Media Card Reader Driver for the supported notebook models and operating systems. The Ricoh Media Card Reader driver provides support for the following media: Memory Stick, xD-Picture Card, MMC, SD, and SmartCard.

Hi there!
I tried this fix, but the freshly downloaded HP 3D Driveguard will not show up in my programs and features on my control panel...Have I done something wrong?
Please help!
Many thanks,
Haley
My HP Notebook is 2 years old. Nothing huge or overwhelming has been downloaded to it. I've made sure most documents are stored in "documents" rather than on the desktop. However, it is taking a long long time to open files. To go from a word doc. to Fileave As. I can count as many as 4 seconds before the File screen opens for saving. Now the shifts between documents is slowing down.
I have installed Chrome Stable on suggestion, I have downloaded most large files to thumbdrives. It's never been dropped.
All system upgrades have been checked and are in place. But the wait is getting longer.
This complaint is all over the Net. Is there a fix or not? The computer was working like a whiz for the first year and a half.
