Why do you need to update your BIOS ? Do you encounter some problems ? Personally, I do not recommend you update the BIOS unless you experience some issues with your existing BIOS and you are sure that the new BIOS will fix it.
General recommendation I provide to users/customers is NOT to upgrade BIOS/UEFI unless they experience any kind of specific BIOS/UEFI issue. Updating just for updaing and just for using the latest verson is not solution. Any kind of update (no matter for what and who relesed it) can fix 2 issues but may introduce 10 more issues. Additionally, upgrading the BIOS (for any vendor) poses more risks because BIOS recovery is not that easy as compared to typical software updates IF something goes wrong.
Same applies for Windows Updates, OS update, drivers updates, etc - upgrade/update IF you have issues which you know are fixed in the newer version or for some severe security issues. Otherwise, keep the existing version as long as possible.
Additionally, you have selected you use Windows 10. This model does not officially support Windows 10 - only Windows Vista

Thanks, but wasn't sure how far back my bios is, can't really find much info on HP site, even says no drivers available for my laptop with vista 32, so can't even download them.
My bios is F.34 Says march 2011 maybe that is the latest..
you could be right, with an old laptop, maybe best leave well alone, windows 10 works perfectly..

Is there any new HP tool (like Ereplogo) that can change the HP Boot logo on newer HP Notebooks like Elitebook 820 G1/G2/G3?
I am asking about a tool that writes/rewrites a custom logo into bios not on any hidden partition of a HDD.
As I know the HP bios (newer) has stored the HP boot logo in 4 versions. One strechted, one small, one medium sized and a bigger version (probably the logos are changing automatically depending on the panel resolution.
I would be very grateful, if a tool like this can be provided.

I updated drivers but it isn't help.
I think problem can not be with cable becasuse it runnig different periods. And also if screen comes out of ext. display, I dissconnected HDMI, ext. display says "cable not connected" and if I plug cable in, ext. display says "no signal". I can buy new one but i don't think it will help.
Is there any chance that cable HDMI to DVI as conversion is not compatibile? It's digital signal to digital signal, right?
I Had a new Hard Drive Installed 3 days ago. Now all of a sudden, when I am changing between doing different things, like writing a document and saving it, as one example, I get the popup that says "Welcome to your new HP you're all set". I click "done" and it goes away, only to reappear some time later. How to get rid of this ?
In order to get the software that came from the factory, you need the Recovery Disk set. The problem with that is it came with Windows 7 and the OS listed in the header for the thread lists Windows 10. As I said, since it does not list Microsoft Office as a perk, it probably was added, unless it was a trial version. Do you happen to know what version the key is supposed to support? If I use Phoenix WinPhlash 1.7.44.0 32 bit or Phlash16 1.7.0.41, will I be able to back up my bios and make an emergency bios repair USB from my orig bios ?
If I can make a restore USB bios then I should be safe ?

and the driver link link says no drivers available......no help at all...

If you are using HDMI to DVI adapter there are chances that the adapter might be bad or not compatible.
I would suggest you replace the connector and check if it helps.
Also, download and install HP support assistant on your PC.
Check for latest updates and drivers.

How to disable the function key ? It is because i need to use the F1,F2,F3, ... in the game and it is very annoying that once i press the F1,F2 while playing, it comes up with the function of the function key. Beside that, I had tried the suggested solution which restart the laptop and disable the function key in the BIOS setup window by press the F10 button once it restarted. But it does not show anything when i pressed F10. So, I was wondering how to disable the function key and function only when I pressed the FN key on my laptop.

Don't cause yourself more trouble. You have an old notebook and the latest BIOS update will not bring anything that much to your PC. As you mentioned yourself, Windows works perfectly. If it ain't broke, don't "fix" it.

Go to the Windows Control Panel, and in the top right, next to View by: select 'Large Icons'.
From the new layout, select Programs and Features and let the list populate.
Find the HP Welcome program listed here, right click the entry, and select Uninstall.
