Running Low on local disk space on my 32 GB SSD on HP Folio 9470m

I have a folio 9470m that has an ssd and hdd 
the SSD has a capacity of 32GB and the HDD is 500GB
I have my operating system installed onto the SSD and the local disk keeps getting filled up
I can't seem to manage to get sensible storage even after changing the location of the temp folder and the necessary libraries locations to the HDD directory
please help because I really can't handle a fresh installation of the operating system because I have a lot of work that needs to be submitted and is stored locally on my computer
