If you just set it up today and its using the wrong language, problem is you cannot navigate now to fix it because you dont read french.

 

Just do a recovery to reload Windows again but set it up in English this time.

It wont take very long to reload Windows 10 again. 15-20 min maybe.

 

Rapidly tap the Esc Key during power up and choose F11 for the recovery.

Follow the prompts.

Be sure to leave the power cord plugged in also.

I tried what you had suggested, but nothing.  Maybe I didn't explain wrong, as I maybe shouldn't have said the set up.  It occurred as soon as we turned it on and setting up language, time zone etc.  I have tried changing it to Canadian English, etc. but it still stays in French so I can not proceed any further and even get to into the set up of the actual computer, or set up wi fi network etc.   So now when I turn on that computer, it is automatically in French, and I can't even use the drop boxes for above as they are in french for the drop boxes and instructions for proceeding forward.

 

Any suggestions?

So you mean the default language when you first turn on the computer and it begins the setup is in French.

The only way I know of to change that is, you have to go into Windows and also load a language pack for what ever language you want to convert to.

How to change the system language across your whole Windows 10 PC 

 

If you cannot read French, I have no idea what you can do other than contact HP Support and have them send you a recovery drive that is in English as default. I assume in Canada, French is also considered native?

I have updated to Windows 10 and scanner is working.  In windows 7 I could save as a pdf files but in the Windows 10 version I am unable to do so.  Any suggestions.

Please provide the HARDWARE ID of the unknown devices ( DEV and VEN )

We will try to locate the drivers.

As we go done various paths of what may work and what will work..Maybe a recommendation of un-installing the drivers and installing a version of the drivers that HP says will work (why must we perform a restore)...May I ask what version of the drivers does HP state will work...?

Hello,

 

I just got this computer as a gift. Its intended use is for school. The dual tablet/laptop nature of the product seemed like it would be perfect for school/note taking. I am looking to use a stylus or 'active pen' of some sort for precise note taking (e.g., on one-note).

 

From what I have seen there seems to be no consensus online about whether or not this model is compatible with the active pen. The sales rep who sold this computer said it was compatible but everything I see online suggests otherwise. Many say that the 2016 version is no longer supporting this function--or that to make it work, you must "extract the .bit file," I wouldn't know how to go about doing that.

 

This function is the primary reason for getting this laptop, and I may have to return it if the function is not available.

 

Before I buy any product, I would like a definitive answer. Do these types of stylus's work with this specific product?  If yes, which product(s) should I look into getting that are promised to work? If not, are there any *specific* steps I need to take to make an active stylus work? 

 

I look forward to hearing a response from the community. I will be very dissapoited if I am told a specific pen works, and I purchace it and it does not work. I would prefer not to have to return this laptop, and I would prefer it not be to late for me to do so if I recieve a run-around.

I am not able to find my device but it shows that it is searching the device througth bluetooth yet not able to find.all the drivers are installed

Thank you for replying,

Perhaps I should rephrase, I don't want you to do a "restore" instead I want you to uninstall the HP Support assistant
And download the latest version from this website (as shared earlier)

 

If the above doesn't work, You could do a restore to a date you know the PC worked without these issues,

The next thing to do is creating a new user account (administrator) and check if that works.

1-hp support is the worst ever

2-hp website ( support ) even worse

3-I wish I never got this hp laptop with this kind of support and service, complete  frustration

4-The laptop was purchased from UAE, but I live in US, it should has international warranty , when I contact US support. they asked me to contact MENA support, and I'm trying to a week but without any hope, I keep getting error on their stupid website ( http://h20180.www2.hp.com/apps/Error?h_lang=en&h_cc=emea_middle_east )

5-Why do I need to contact MENA support if I live in the US and laptop has international warranty ?

 

Anyone here has faced similar issue ?

No battery detected

So yesterday i turned on my hp split x2 for the first time in a month. and when i plugged it into the charger i noticed that the battery icon had a red x in it. when i scrolled over it says no battery detected. my next guess was to restart my pc and hit f10 to get to get the reboot screen. i checked the primary battery and it said N/A same as the secondary battery.  i have factory reset, updated and downloaded BIOS. it seems nothing has worked. please help!!!
