OBTAINING RECOVERY MEDIA FOR MY HP ENVY dv6-7246us
Hi Y'all!
My HP ENVY dv6-7246us stated ticking... and like the tell tail heart.. the hard drive said nevermore!
I have spent the last half an hour digging around the support pages for a link to buy new media to go on the new SSD hard drive (another never more to spinning disc's) just dead ending.
Windows 8, I belive 64 bit.

HP Support Assistance - List six updates...installed 5 of the 6 updates...Pending the Final update being its a BIOS update
No details are given as to the bendfits of grading the BIOS ?
Searched HP support can not find any details on : softpaq number: SP78452 ?
Searched HP support can not find any details on : Version to F.11Ap1 ?
Find it strange when searching HP, HP does not have any details on SP78452 or F.11Ap1...
Should I update the BIOS ? if so why ?
What are the benefits of updating the BIOS ?

Hi:
You can order recovery disks for your notebook at the link below.
Be prepared for the possibility that the recovery disks will not work on a drive with a significantly smaller storage capacity as the original one.
I can almost guarantee you that the recovery disks won't work on anything smaller than 240 GB.

Welcome to Forum !!
You need to know three things about HP Recovery Media:
1) It is NOT downloadable, you have to order the physical media
2) It is not free, you have to pay for it
3) It will erase the ENTIRE contents of your drive
Order from the below link :
If HP no longer provides Recovery Media for your model, a couple of other sites you should check are: http://www.computersurgeons.com/ and http://www.restoredisks.com/

Excessive use of hard drive
I have recently purchased a new HP Stream 11 with a 32gb hard drive. The long and short of my question is I was trying to fix my PC from my notebook and put Windows OS on a jump drive. I was using windows media creation tool and it said I need 8gb of space on my hard drive. I looked and there was only about 6gb of space left on my hard drive. Of the 32gb, 5gb is used for windows and I have a capacity of 27gb but 22gb are already used. I haven't installed anything on this notebook other then Chrome broswer and download this one file. How can 2/3 of the hard drive space already be taken. My windows file says it's 17.5gb and uses 11.2gb on the disk. I need to free this up because this seems like a big waste. Any helpful tips would be appreciated.

Not able to install Windows 7 Ultimate on HP Notebook 15-ay503tx
Hi Team,
While installing Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit OS on my HP Notebook 15-ay503tx, am getting error which says 'A required CD/DVD or USB driver is missing'.
I tried installing using both DVD image and USB which is bootable, still face the same Issue. Please help me out to install.

HI.
You should do the installation, from a USB and add this driver, once you request the drivers from a USB look for it in theory should look automatically, whenever you look at the correct route, the error is due to a lack of controller chipset Or also by an image from an unofficial source, even from an evil version ultimate copy.

Connecting External monital to hp laptop
This may seem easy.
I work from home,I have a USB SanDisk that i use for work, it seem that when the sandisk in the port,i t will not connect to the monitor. When I turn the computer on for work I must press escape as soon as the computer comes on, press F9 , then press run sandisk. The Help desk at this job has not been able to help me. the laptop is 17.4, the monitor is 24inches I really need this job I am 59, disabled veteran and working from home is all I can do. If this one won't work what I go buy but I need to know first.

IDE ATA/ATAPI contollers
Can anyone tell me what "Intel(R) 9 Series Chipset Family SATA AHCI Controller does? I am having a problem with my sound controls and when I ran Driver Toolkit it said i need to install/update this along with Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller, along with some others for System devices. Would this impact my sound controls? The other system devices were Mobile 5th GenerationPCI express root port 1 thru 5 and the management engine interface. Should I download them from thi site? Is it safe?

Not able to find USB 3.0 drivers and Wireless Lan Drivers
Hi,
I have installed Windows 7 Professional using DVD and it worked. However now the Issue I face is with the drivers. I was somehow able to install the realtek Ethernet LAN drivers and it worked.
However am not able to find a compatible USB driver and Wireless LAN Driver for my HP Notebook 15-ay503tx.
I tried Intel Wireless LAN driver and its not working.
Can you please help me with that.
