Update:
I got past the original place it was getting stuck. Here’s what is going on now:
It’s trying to install “Feature update to Windows 10, Version 1607.” It appears that it has downloaded the update multiple times, then it goes through the “Preparing to install the update.” Then is says “Restart is required.” I have already been through that same process several times.
I just now did the required Restart. After restarting, it did the progress screen and then finished booting. When done, it said it “Could not finish installing all of the updates.” But when I went into “Settings” then “Update and Security” it said “The device is up-to-date.”
I checked Update History and several updates failed to install, including the “Feature update to Windows 10, Version 1607.” ( failed it twice today) There were others that failed but many more that were successful. The PC is set to “Download and install automatically.” But I have been using the manual method in hopes of getting it up-to-date.
I just told it to Check for updates. It still wants to install the “Feature update to Windows 10, Version 1607.” It’s says it’s downloading the update (again) and now Preparing to install (again)
It just now finished the Preparing to install and is now asking for a reboot. I suspect it will go through the same process all over again. (It would be the third time) I just told it to Restart Now.

Allow me to welcome you to the HP forums!
While Microsoft tells you that there is no risk in the Win10 Upgrade, because they let you believe that you can always revert back to your original OS and setup within 30 days, the ugly fact of the matter is that the Win10 GoBack function has proven to be unreliable -- and when it fails, it can leave machines in a corrupted state -- which doesn't always happen, but it does happen often enough to be a problem and you won't get any warning in advance that it is going to trash your PC!
If that is not bad enough, the Win10 Upgrade is know, in some cases, to corrupt the Recovery partition stored there by the OEM that built the original machine. This pretty much guarantees that no HP Recovery is going to work: http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Desktop-Video-Display-and-Touch/HP-Recovery-Manager-Blocked-After-Windows-10-Upgrade/td-p/5170752
This means that RESET no longer works on your laptop due to your doing the Win10 Upgrade.
To actually restore your PC to its original condition, you need something known as HP Recovery Media.

Software issues
This computer is bran new(less than a day old in my hands). I am struggling with popdown choices when you start a search. I can not access the choices. They keep diappearing when I start draging pointer down. Tabs are very slow to open. Running 300 mbps internet service. New to Windows 10, but it should not be this hard to transfer to new system ways. Can someone please enlighten me?

You need to go to the link I provided and use it to download and create the Win10 installation media.
Choose DVD or USB stick, depending on which you PC has. IF it does not have an optical disk reader, then choose the USB stick.

I may have given the wrong windows, I just got the laptop less than a month ago, from QVC, supposed to be the latest. Space is one terabyte and as far as I know, nothing on it... not a space issue.

You're very welcome.
If the drivers I posted for the PCI Device above didn't work, try this one...
1st driver on the list. Download, unzip and run the setup.exe file.
I posted the driver for the PCI Simple Comms Controller device above as well.
If that one didn't work, try this one, or use the Windows Update utility to find it.
This package provides the Intel Management Engine Components Driver for supported notebook models running a supported operating system.

For the unknown devices, please post the hardware ID's for them, so I can see what drivers are needed.
To find the hardware ID, click on each unknown device. Then click on the Details tab at the top of the Unknown Device window.
Now you will see a Property drop down list, and it will be set to Device Description.
Drop down on that list, and select the 2nd item (Hardware ID's).
Post the top string of characters that you see in the window.

Computer will freeze all the time.
Hey there, so my story is that I bouth this brand new labtop on black friday. I got it for a good deal. I love it so far but my only problem is that it keeps freezing on me. I have to restart the entire computer and try again. This has happened like 6 time just today. I'm wondering if it's something that I have done wrong, or if it's judge a bad computer? Any suggestions on what I can do to fix it?

well interestingly enoght i no longer have a message that i have updates. it ieven says no messages or updates now.
i mught also mention that this is the third time this year the solution to my challenge was to remove and reinstall the hp support which i have done on each time.
does this put my warranty at risk ??

That's strange that it would give you the message it did, but that would only mean that Microsoft hasn't released an update compatible with your product and that's probably why the automatic update didn't go through either.
I'd recommend waiting for them to release an update suitable for your computer before we reattempt.
No alternate solutions as of now.

I ran into another problem when trying to connect to a wired router port. It wouldn't connect. It says it's unable to ID the connection. It was a known good port and I tried 3 different cables. It kept wanting to call it a public network but it's not. I'm thinking it's a security thing.
