BTW, you didn't respond to my question about copying/cloning the files over from my functioning 1TB to the SSD.
Just to be sure we're on the same page, does it matter if I'm using the HP OEM USB restore media (part 733051-0001) or the USB media I created after the successful recovery on my 1T drive?
If using the self-created recovery USB is OK (to go directly to a minimal recovery) then not to beat a dead horse, but if that software is supposed to support a 256G drive, wouldn't it have a configuration file in there to reflect the proper geometry?
Still banging my head against the wall. I think I've lost 10% of the life of the SSD with all these recovery attempts.
