I have already tried that! I called the number they gave me (HP support) and was told that There was no sense in getting a new set of recovery discs because I would just have the same problem with them! Now HP support just wants to wash their hands of me because apparantly my computer has "reached the end of it's life, and the end of HP support" (it's just about 4 years old) They said I should just buy a new one, after I just told them I can't afford that. Good old American greed, no money, tough!!!!!!!!!!
