Last chance saloon for poor old G6-1103 notebook PC

I have an HP Notebook model: g6-1103 computer and I'm tearing my hair out over this.

I took ownership of a used but perfectly functioning notebook a couple of weeks ago but after a failed Win7 reinstall and then a failed BIOS rollback I now have a BRICK.

Current symptoms powering on are:

1) Power LEB turns solid white and wifi LED solid orange.

2) Fan turns on fast but then changes to slow after a couple of seconds.

3) Screen is totally black (as though turned off) and no output from VGA port to external monitor.

4) Hard drive tested in another computer and works fine.

I've tried a hard reset and [windows key]+B on powering on but nothing helps.

There must be a perfectly working computer inside somewhere but I desperately need help in restoring this brick back to working order. Surely it's too much of a coincidence for the graphics chip to fail at EXACTLY  the same time as a WIN7 or BIOS reinstall.

PLEASE!!!!!!! - if you think this is a total brick then please let me know also.  I've spent too many hours on this broken PC and if you tell me I need to give up then I will.

Many thanks

JECLE.
