When requesting assistance, please provide the complete model name and/or product number of the HP computer in question. HP/Compaq makes thousands of models of computers. Without this information it may be difficult or impossible to assist you in resolving your issue.
The above requested information can be found on the bottom of the computer or inside the battery compartment. Please do not include the serial number. Please enter the model/product information into HP's Online Consumer Support page and/or post it here for our review.
When you first setup your computer, you should have created your personal set of HP Recovery Discs or an HP Recovery USB Flash drive. When the hard drive was replaced and you installed Windows 7, no HP Recovery partition was created nor the HP Recovery installed on your computer. The only way to create the HP Recovery partition and the HP Recovery on your computer, is to use HP Recovery Discs to return the computer to a factory like state.
HP can't and/or doesn't make Recovery images available for download. If you didn't create the HP Recovery Media, you will need to order an HP Recovery Disc set to return the computer to a factory like state. Please contact HP, in your region / country, via the HP Worldwide Support Portal to check on the availability of HP Recovery Discs for your computer.
