WIndows Hello Face on HP Envy

hi I just bought HP Envy x360 13-ar0009AU in Indonesia.

I want to set up my sign in to this notebook using WIndows Hello Face.

But I can't click the set up button.

There's a statement like this: "This option currently unavailable. We couldn't find a camera compatible with WIndows Hello Face"

What should I do to use the Windows Hello Face to sign in on my notebook?

Hi, thanks for replying.

Unfortunately, there is no 'screen configurations' tab under 'display adapter settings' .

It is incredibly frustrating that HP have automatically started showing this notification a few weeks ago with no opt-in or opt-out feature. Why is there no universal way to turn this off - terrible work from HP.

Thank you for posting back.

I have a few troubleshooting steps we could try to fix the issue:

To check for updates now, select the Start button, and then go to Settings  > Update & security  > Windows Update, and select Check for updates.

Install updates from HP Support Assistant: Go to Download HP Support Assistant to install the tool.

To open the HP Support Assistant, double-click the HP Support Assistant icon https://support.hp.com/doc-images/932/c05040382.jpg.

Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.

Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.

Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.

Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.

Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.

And, also run  BIOS Update: Follow steps from the link: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00042629

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.

I'll be glad to assist you with this.

With the new windows update audio driver coms with Realtek.

If you would link to use the B&O you roll back a device driver to a previous version of Windows 10.

To roll back a device driver to a previous version of Windows 10, use these steps:

  1. Open Start.
  2. Search for Device Manager and click the top result to open the experience.
  3. Expand the category with the device that you want to roll back.
  4. Right-click the device, and select the Properties option.

  5. Click the Driver tab.
  6. Click the Roll Back Driver button.

You can also run the HP Support Assistant and look for the latest B&O drivers.

Let's Uninstall the drivers from the device manager.

1) Right-click the Start button, then click Device Manager.

2) Expand Keyboards then right-click Standard PS/2 Keyboard and click Uninstall.

3) When prompted to confirm, click OK.

4) Restart your computer after the uninstall.

Yeah, I tried every single option connected with updating, reinstalling and installing previous versions of touchpad driver but it didn’t work. I’ve tried phone support and ended up sending my laptop to repair so now I have to wait for repair report.

This sounds like hardware related issue with the computer as it's not booting on.

I would request you to reach out to our Support and our Support Engineers should be able to check the available service options in order to diagnose the computer physically. HP Support can be reached by clicking on the following link:  www.hp.com/contacthp/

Note: Disconnect all the connected devices from the computer including power cord and try to turn it back on after few hours sometimes this fixes the issue.

Using any browser eventually freezes the whole computer.

Hey, I recently bought HP Notebook 14 (dk0016no) and I have faced an odd malfunction.

Using web browser (mainly EDGE and Mozilla Firefox) causes for the browser to suddenly freeze, and after few seconds whole computer follows.

First the browsers window freezes, but the mouse moves smoothly still highlighting buttons in the task bar etc., and after a while the mouse starts stuttering and also stops moving. Clicking taskbar items however does nothing when i tried out of curiosity. Usually when the freeze happens I can hear the pc fan slowing down/turning silent also.

I'we noticed this problem occurs more on pages heavy with videos, gifs, ads etc. however it has happened allso on mostly text based sites with just few ads or so.

Any idea whats causing this?

Only thing that works dusing freeze is hard reset holding the power button down for few seconds. It feels odd as the pc is otherwise capable of running low key games and software pretty well, but browsers causes a collapse.
