Re: No UEFI?

Well,

When you try to install Ubuntu from usb, it should be giving you the option to "install alongside w10" .. sadly enough this is not the case when I try to ...

And I read that this happens when secure boot is enabled and prevents the Ubuntu to install alongside w10 ..

I do have the option to empty the whole hdd and install then.. but I don't want to use only Ubuntu since I'm used to using w10 and happy about it..  I just want to explore Ubuntu .. Smiley Very Happy

So i've been trying alot of things so far and they all don't seem to work..

I already made a partition of about 75gb (25gb required for sufficient use), tried to update everything, tried to update the bios, did a dskchk, ... but no answer in that... so I was hoping that by disableing the secure boot that this might bring the solution ..

thx

recent versions of Ubuntu should install on a secure boot system. But I think you have something else going on because I do not think you have secure boot or you would see it in the BIOS.

You can install Ubuntu using manaual disk partitioning....leave the Windows partitions alone and the 75 gb should be like 25 gb on a root "/" partition, a swap equal to the memory amount or at least 4 gigs, and a /home partition for the rest. Grub will install automatically and give you the option to boot to Windows.

3D Hardware Accelarated Driver

So... whenever i got to open up Blender i always recieve this message: "Your system does not use 3D Hardware Accelaration. Blender requires a graphics driver with open GL with 2.1 support.

This may be caused by:

*A missing or faulty graphics or driver installation.

Blender needs a graphics card driver to work.

*Accessing blender through a remote location.

*Using blender through a virtual machine.

This has never happened before so im wondering what could of gone wrong.

SO!

I found the reason I can not see the "install alongside w10"..

There's already 4 partitions on my portable;

So all I can do is delete 1 so I can make another one for Ubuntu..

I read the HP_TOOLS can be deleted, but I can't find how to make the HP_TOOLS partition work on a usb in case anything goes wrong...

Can anything go wrong when I delete this partition?

thx in advance

WIRELESS BUTTON in WINDOWS 10 (Upgrade SP 77381)

I have a new HP Touchscreen Laptop running Windows 10, 64 Bit.  I am using a new HP Officejet Pro 8100 Wireless Printer.  The printer is working wirelessly as long as I get up, turn the printer power on and hit print for the document or spreadsheet I need printed.  I successfully installed HP SP77381, HP Wireless Button Drive, which according to the Office Assistant needed to be downloaded.

There are no LED displays on this inexpensive HP Laptop.  No where can I locate the program or button for turning the printer on from my laptop.  This would be usefull since my printer will shut itself down after a period of time if not used withing a certain period of time.

Can you tell me where this button may be located and if not, is it possible to configure the printer so that the printer does not shut down unless I manually press the power button?

Thank you.

Signed in with old email address and shut it off and now I am trying to change email address

WAs looking to make my computer more secure by changing the email address. I thought I did it to the main ones, but didn't think about other like where I get my ink from. In order to change your email address I have to get into the account and change it. To do that I put in the sites old address and go to account and change it. Some of the accounts don't remember the password or users name. So they want to send it to my old email address which isn't there anymore. With an account like HP Connect were I order my ink through, it is difficult, I can't just close the account and start anew. What do I do?

You have the AMD R5 graphics built into the processor, called APU graphics. It supports Open GL and is hardware accelerated. Did you update your Blender version? Did you ever use Blender on that computer without this message? What does the Device Manager list as the "Display Adapter"?

I'm having this same issue and my computer is only 3 weeks old. The error message just says "failed installation" every time.

hi ,

Could you try updaing the unit driver from the below link and check

https://downloadcenter.intel.com/

If you are not able to find it . I requst you to share me the Hardware ID of the device for which you need the driver .

In DEVICE MANAGER >> right click on the device >> select PROPERTIES >> under details >> select harware ID and share me the hardware ID .

So that I can provide you to the link to find the driver .

Re: Disabling Internal Graphics in BIOS vF.1c

Well ... I'm using a USB-to-VGA adapter on my desktop to drive a third monitor, so using PCI-e to drive an external graphics card is a similar idea.

My guess is that you will have to install a driver to enable the external card, as I had to to that to enable the third monitor.

Good Luck

I can't read anything in the screenshots -- they are too small to read the text.
