Re: How to find palmcheck option ?
Hi,
Thr setting you're looking for may well be called SmartSense on your notebook, which is just a different name for the same function that PalmCheck provides.

Re: Synaptics Two-Finger scroll
I've followed all your steps to no avail. The link for the Recovery Manager doesn't seem to be working. Do you have a link to BIOS Updates? I am running version 4.1F I believe it was.. Thanks
Re: Synaptics Two-Finger scroll

Re: Windows Hello not available?
@Dragon-Fur
So I have actually already set my pin since first getting my laptop. In the Sign-In option, my pin has been set and I have an option to CHANGE it. What I havnt done would simply be verifying my identity. I do not know if this actually affects Windows Hello availability in any way. Any help?
Thanks

HP Quick Launch Buttons Going Haywire... Still.... in 2016
This is just a follow up of all the 2010 and 2011 posts, I still have a dv8t-1200 and I've been scouring the internet for a way to just completely disable the quick launch touch buttons on my dv8t, as the static or whatever it is, is driving me crazy, and I'll just buy an external wireless adaptor if I need to.
I heard someone briefly post how you can disable everything somewhere, but you'll lose your wireless connectivity too... Do you know how to do that, because with a usb wifi device, I might be able to solve everything.
Thanks
Re: Windows Hello not available?
If you received a notice / email from Microsoft to verify your setup, do so.
If you have verified your setup and the Sign-in options are not cooperating,
Try the following to ensure Windows has access to the fingerprint scanner / driver:
Create a Restore Point
Create a Restore Point:System Restore XP OR System Restore W7 OR System Restore W8-W10
Stop all programs: Browsers, games, Applications, etc.
Control Panel> icon view > System> System Protection>
Click (Highlight) your main disk (C)> Select Create a Restore Point
Download and do not yet install the Synaptics / Validity Driver
File name: sp74365.exe
Release details
Released: Jan 15, 2016
Version 4.5.327.0 Rev.A
Uninstall and delete the existing fingerprint Driver
Control Panel> icon view > Device Manager> open Biometrics>
Right-Click on your Synaptics Driver > Uninstalland Tick the box to delete the driver
Rebootthe machine and log in (using your PIN or password)
Check Settings> Account> Sign-in Options
If no joy:
Find the downloaded Driver (probably in your Downloads Folder) and install (double click on the file)
Reboot the machine and log in
Check Settings> Account> Sign-in Options

Re: installation of software
Thank you for replying. This laptop is intended as a gaming PC. It has a SSD 128Gb c: drive which I believe is intended to start up software fastest. The d: drive is the data drive and there is an e: drive which is the recovery.
So far the laptop only saves downloads of games and apps to the c: drive. I was hoping to save my steam games to the d: but I don't seem to have the option to chnage the default.
