Problem: No USB support
Had a browser problem and performed repair steps from malwaretips.com.
Machine seems to work now, and it does have network connectivity. But USB drivers do not work, and come up with error icons in Device Manager.
Under the "Other devices" category, there are four lines with error indicator, all saying:
/!\ Universal Serial Bus (USB) Controller
FYI, the hardware ID for these devices is mostly this: PCI\VEN_1022&DEV_7807&SUBSYS_188B103C&REV_11
All windows updates are applied. This is Win 8.1 64-bit.
HP Service Assistant reports nothing.
Also tried running the latest Win 8.1 chipset driver installer from AMD -- but it shows everything 'up-to-date'.
I manually uninstalled all four of these USB devices, and rebooted -- sometimes that will reinstall things, I know.
But no luck, they return to same display as mentioned above.
Pretty much have exhausted all my known tricks. I have a thread open on BleepingComputer.com about this, and now reaching out here as well.
Any trusted sources for these USB drivers or other suggested solution steps?
THANK YOU!
Reinstall the graphics driver and it will also install the chipset drivers which contain the usb controller driver.
The following link is to the AMD graphics driver at HP.
Hi all,
Since yesterday I all of a sudden have issues with (probably) my mouse. Am not even sure about that but let me explain whats happening. I'm using a HP Pavilion 15 Notebook PC. Since last night scrolling on (with an external mouse) for example FB has turned into a nightmare. It goes quite difficult and things keep popping up without being asked for. Also in games it has made it impossible to play. For example I play WGT golf on the internet. There you have to drag the cursor to a certain point to establish the power you want to put into a shot, but the mouse just decides itself until where it wants to be dragged to. Furthermore I have to click on more or less everything 3 or 4 or more times before it reacts. And like I said, until yesterdayafternoon everything ran really smoothly. Do I have to buy a new external mouse or could there be another issue going on here.
Thanks very much for your input. With kind regards, Mark
I would like to report that the problem has been solved. It was a combinaison of three factors:
- some USB port do not react as others ;
- my wife debuged once more the phone with the Korean menu (because she is Korean) ; once this been done something was "happening" but was very unstable, therefore:
- finally we found that the cable of Samsung (the one that came with the box of my S4) did not work properly ; we used a brand new one from our Galaxy tablet.

I had posted about an issue with stuttering while playing video games on this notebook a while ago (http://h30434.www3.hp.com/t5/Notebook-Video-Display-and-Touch/Occasional-Stuttering-In-Video-Games/m-p/5294692#M118357). I tried what was offered to me in the post one person replied with, but to no avail. I tried putting a tdrdelay in my registry, a recommended fix for my previous problem, which did seem to fix the stuttering, but now instead of stuttering, my games will lock up and then crash, giving me the error: "Application has been blocked from accessing graphics hardware." Now, I've removed the tdrdelay registry entry and restarted my laptop, but the issue stays the same. I have this new problem that seems to plague me rather regularly. Sometimes it does not even take a video game to cause this error to occur. I've had browsers crash on me with this error, while either watching a video or playing a game on the browser.
I did have a live chat with an HP support agent who updated my flash player and ran an adware/spyware removal tool. Neither of these things helped. He even checked to make sure my the driver for my display adapter (an integrated Intel HD Graphics 4600 card) was up-to-date, which I had already made sure of. He suggested that it was a problem with all of the video games I am playing, which I sincerely doubt, and that I should uninstall and reinstall them (I have also already tried this). I do not think this many various video game companies could have all caused the same problem with their individual, separate, and varied games.
Short of factory resetting my machine and dealing with the stuttering issue again, does anyone have a possible solution to this problem?
You mention graphics driver, but this SP is for Realtek Card Reader Driver 6.2.9200.29070.
Anywas I did try to install it -- it launches and begins to install files... but I never get back any kind of "completed" message saying successful installation. Should it?
I purchased this laptop in Janary and just recently noticed that using HP Support Assistant, it is showing that my warranty expires in October. I have proof of purchase. Please can you look into it.

Hi,

Hello
Welcome to the HP Forums!
I have read your post and understand that your HP g60 Notebook will not boot. I have researched the issue and have come up with a possible resolution. First, please perform a hard reset. Once that is complete, please follow the steps in this document:
HP Notebook PCs - Computer Does Not Start (Windows 10)
If the document did not help you resolve the issue, try restoring the BIOS. For more specific information please provide your product model using this link "Find my Product".
Thank you, I look forward to your response with the outcome.
